<para>Martin studied performing arts at Hertfordshire University before winning an acclaimed position in the National Youth Theatre. Within this company he has toured extensively throughout the U.S.A. His wide-ranging experience within the professional Youth Theatre Industry allows him to write for, interact and understand the world from a young person's point of view.</para>

<para>He has trained actors in stage craft, combat and self-defence and has demonstrated his skills on ITV.</para>

<para>In order to be employed as a professional in the world of theatre, circus, film, radio or television a performer is usually required to become a member of Equity, and to be eligible to join Equity he or she needs to have proven professional paid experience in one or more of these fields.</para>

<para>Martin is a professional writer of corporate shows and children's events. He has a hands-on approach to his writing and often directs and performs in his own work. With many years of experience both working with and for children it's no wonder so many parents are delighted when they book The Scallywag for their children's party.</para>

<para>We now live in an age where entertainment can be accessed by the push of a button or the click of a mouse. Within seconds a child can be fully immersed within a world of wonderment without having even left their house. With so much information at one's fingertips, children's attention spans are short. Gone is the age of sitting in front of a clown whilst he or she goes through a set routine. Children want to be involved. They want to interact with their entertainer. They want to be on their feet. They want to sing. They want to dance. They want to be the stars of their own party.</para>

<para>Anything is possible when you tap into the unlimited resources that is a child's imagination.</para>
